Missouri Right To Life Caravan Today At The Arch

Last night as I watched the weather report, my heart sunk and I began to pray: Please, Lord, hold off the snow until after my show! It wasn't a selfish prayer. It was a prayer of safety. Every year in January on the Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, I have been providing sound for a rally held under the Gateway Arch. The Missouri Right To Life Caravan is a group of pro-life people who head off to Washington, DC every year in a bus. They arrive in time to protest and silently pray on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade in Washington.

Today, was the day they leave St. Louis. As of last night's weather report, I would be driving downtown in almost 5" Of snow total. This concerned me since the stage where the rally is held is right on the river. To get to it involves driving down a steep hill alongside the river. I was not thrilled with the thought of sliding into the river, frozen, with a van full of DJ gear.

God answered my humble prayer. It amazingly began to snow just as I was packing up to come home. The snows were beginning to become covered as I left. But, I made it home safely. Thank you, Lord!

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday Pro-Life Month

This year 5,000 babies in St. Louis alone could find their mother's womb the most deadly place to be. The statistics reveal that 5,000 potential mothers-to-be will face the decision of ending the pregnancy by abortion.

This Sunday, January 23, 2011 is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. How will you be spending it? I will be spending it, once again, downtown at the Gateway Arch providing sound for the Pro-Life Caravan. The group travels in a bus from city to city every year on their way to Washington DC. to gather for the anniversary of Roe v. Wade to peacefully protest and pray.

The rally on Sunday is a kickoff of their trip complete with emotional talks, prayers and music.

There is a local radio station who is also backing the pro-life month! JOY Fm 99.1 fm is teamig up with Thrivent to help those hurt by an abortion and to help others make a decision for life. The station is asking that 5,000 people sign up to pray for those 5,000 lives that hang in the balance this year in St. Louis.

The Best Custom Designed Guitars I've Seen

Ran across some really cool custom designed guitars on Etsy. They're the kind of design that makes me wish I had the skills to not just play but to also design something like this. Now, I've been to the NAMM Show (A big Musician show) in Chicago, but don't remember guitars like these:

You can find them at Etsy! from a seller by the name of Roland. If you're not familiar, Etsy is a site where people sell their art, crafts and more hand-designed items. In the meantime, check out the pics:

What To Never Put On A Job Resume'

Many musicians have heard the term: "Don't quit your day job." This refers to a musician who just doesn't quite have what it takes to make a living in music, let alone make it big. If you're looking for a job, the first thing you'll need is a resume'.

In an employment market that is competitive for the job seeker, it is very important to put your best foot forward in the job application and interview process.  The first step is to put together an excellent resume' which will get you noticed and prompt a call for the initial interview.  Once you have the face-to-face interview, you can shine.  But, you cannot leave a good personal impression until you have made a first impression on paper through a quality resume'.  To make sure your resume' stands out in a good way, there are ten things that should never be included.

Need 3 More Students to Fill Saturday's Group Guitar Lessons at Mozingo

Receive a guitar for Christmas? If so, you've probably already discovered that those "helpful" DVDs that come with the guitar kits leave a lot to be desired in terms of really teaching a child how to play guitar. Group guitar lessons are a great way to learn to play guitar, and I am teaching a new session beginning this Saturday at Mozingo Music in O'Fallon, Missouri. However, I still need 3 students to fill the 11:00-11:45 time slot to meet the minimum student requirements of the store.

These group lessons are recommended for children ages 8-12. Of course, if you have a very precocious 7 year old or a 13-14 year old who has never had a guitar until now, they are welcome as well.

Please read this article about the Mozingo Group Lessons being offered at The Stage, and then share this with anyone you know who has a child ages 7-14 who might have received a guitar for Christmas and wants to learn how to play it.
